Where to Stay
Chalet accommodation
Accommodation is situated (predominantly) in an idyllic part of Châtel called ‘Tres les Pierre’, which
is conveniently nestled between the two main ski lifts, Linga and Pre la Joux.
Their location means that guests are near enough to town and the ski slopes (and on the free Châtel
bus route) to be convenient but secluded enough to enjoy the beauty of nature. It’s not uncommon
to see Stoats and foxes in the winter, and Wild Boars, mountain goats, dear and foxes in summer,
foraging near the houses. It is also possible to ski to within 200m of the chalets via Linga.
The chalets are all privately owned, freestanding, self-contained houses with 6, 8, or 10 beds. All
have combinations of single and double rooms, a lot with bathrooms en-suite.
Most have the usual conveniences, TV, DVDs, satellites, stoves and microwaves, as well as stunning
forest and/or mountain views, and all linen is generally provided
Guests would book, and pay the owners directly for the whole chalet (6, 8, 10 beds), in weekly
modules (Saturday to Saturday). The obvious benefit of this arrangement is that paying the owners
directly means not only a lower cost to the guest, but also privacy. The chalet is theirs entirely and
they would not have to share with other guests.
Apartment accommodation
Apartment accommodation is also a popular option which is available. Situated within walking
distance of the Super Châtel bubble lift, a 5 or 6 sleepers apartment is perfect for those wanting to
be near the centre of town and prefer apartment living.
Apartments are cozy and convenient and most have stunning views up and down the whole valley,
and are within walking distance of most of the town’s favourite shops and restaurants.
